Rollercoaster

Today was such a blur. For those of you just catching this latest post, I was live blogging in Press Room #2 at the Texas ‘Crat Spat between Clinton and Obama which took place at the Rec Sports Center at U.T. Austin.

After the ‘Crat Spat, I was interviewed on the BBC world service radio. It was crazy. “And now with the student perspective we go to KVRX News Director Vanessa Castaneda.” I am not sure I sounded very intelligent for the nervousness… They asked me about who I thought looked better. I said Obama.

I don’t remember most of I said…I was trying to process the fact that I was being interviewed by the BBC right after live blogging before and during the debate, as well as doing a standup, while battling sheer physical exhaustion from carrying around heavy bags of equipment. They inquired about my reaction to the debate and which candidate I thought did better. We went live from my cell phone on the sidewalk of San Jacinto. I do remember saying I was “disillusioned with the spectacle of power accumulation in America.”

OMG I was on BBC World Service Radio.

Then as I’m getting on the Forty Acres bus to go back to the CMC to get my bag which contained my change of clothes, my mother calls me and tells me my grandma just had a heart attack. She’s probably going to die. This sucks. And now I have to write a case study for another class about Keith Olbermann’s blog. He’s not returning my inquiries. I’m pooped. What a day.
