I’ll drink to that

Longhorns have to relinquish their eager grip on the party school title. The Princeton Review surveyed students and they voted The University of Florida the number one party school. Probably had something to do with the Gators winning two national basketball titles and a football title. Even though they’ve been in the top 20 for 15 years now, this is the first time they’ve topped the chart. Spokesman for UF Steve Orlando said it’s not just a bunch of jocks partying, citing an average incoming freshman GPA of 4.1. I wonder if they people they surveyed were even old enough to drink legally.  UT  Austin fell to number eight.  Maybe you’ll actually be able to park on campus on the weekends now.  Too bad I’m graduating in two weeks, so I don’t have to fight to get at the PCL anymore.

24/Seven Day 1

at 5:11 pm by ohmyafly

TSTV, the only student run, student produced, FCC licensed station in the nation, is setting a new world record for the longest broadcast. 168 hours.

U.T. Austin students will be living at the TV station for a week. TSTV will be broadcasting the social experiment live. 24/7. Hence the name: 24/ Seven.

Six different cameras throughout the station will capture the actions of 16 students.

The concept of the show is to see if they can live at the Texas Student Television studios while conducting specific events in a Real World/Big Brother style scenario with the following restrictions:

Students can only leave the studios for class.

Any food must be brought to the students via other students or delivery services. Everyday activities such as bathing, sleeping, and others must take place within the building.

The show will air on Ch. 16 if you have cable. Ch.15 in the dorms. And if none of the above apply to you, you can catch it on Ch. 9.

TSTV welcomes visitors. Especially if they have food and drink to share.

Audiences can interact with the show three ways: via the call in line: 512-471-3190, by aim: TSTV24seven, or the live blog: tstv.wordpress.com

“Change” v. “Experience”

Current count:

Change

Obama: 6

Clinton: 5

Experience

Obama: 0

Clinton: 1

Let The ‘Crat Spat begin!

Look at the mass of photographers. Oh look at Andrew Solomon. Really? What does he do besides shake hands with people? And We are NOT at the LBJ library, Campbell Brown.

Up first, Clinton drops two name bomb on Texan women’s hearts.

She “wants to stop people from discriminating against sick people.” Isn’t there a more PC term for sick people?

We are now counting how many times she says “healthcare.”

Next up: Obama grabs out and wrenches the heart with his healthcare policy.

Now that he’s discussed “how good ideas go to Washington go to die,”I feel a “change” coming on.

Only one change in both intro? I’m astounded.

OOh. Hello, Jorge Ramos.

Clinton says she’s not talking to countries on America’s shit list. Obama will.

I like that he wants freedom of the press in Cuba.

These are old issues. Can we get to the new ones?

Feeling the heat, Clinton changes the subject, cites a deviation and departure from the Bush administration, eliciting applause from the invited elite and raffle winners.

What’s up with the cutaway to Chelsea Clinton? Of course she’s going to applaud her mother. Puh lease.

Onto the economy. How will these candidates differ on the economy? Obama says things should be fair and balanced for all Americans? Was that a Fox endorsement? I’m not sure he said anything at all.

Here comes the “experience.” blah blah blah.

WHY AREN’T THEY TALKING ABOUT TEXAS MORE? Ah.. Hillary finally boosts the ego of the UT grads. Finally.

——————VAMOS HABLAR DE IMMIGRACION————-

U.S. born children with one undocumented parents are being raided at work and deported. Why is Clinton associating undocumented people with negligent parents who leave their babies unattended? Come on. This is insulting. She wants Mexico to create jobs for their citizens and have people learn English and pay a fine to become American citizens. In the first 100 days of her presidency she would create a path to citizenship.

Obama calls her out on the racist undertone of the immigration rhetoric. Uhm…I thought most employers wanted a diverse array of employees?

Hillary looks like she has turtlehead poking out. This is what is costing her. She seems too uptight.
